Spotlight Joinery meets an industry need for a world-class local joinery business. Since our inception in 2006, our focus has been on building a brand that is synonymous with superior design, quality manufacturing and outstanding client service.

We offer a turnkey solution from design to installation of custom joinery for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, wine cellars, studies, wall panelling and custom-made items. This involves crafting architectural pieces from high-quality materials, based on our client’s requirements for their home.

Our Cape Town factory delivers quality joinery to the high-end residential market throughout the African continent. Spotlight Joinery is a proudly South African business that has successfully run projects in countries such as Zambia, Seychelles, Kenya, Zimbabwe and more.

Our History

2007

Childhood friends Bo Bylin and Andrew Scott found Spotlight Kitchens in a garage in Woodstock. Despite being in their twenties, their energy and ambition were unmatched.

2011

The business grew exponentially over four years, leading to a move to their current 2200m² manufacturing operation in Lansdowne, Cape Town.

2017

The trading name changes to Spotlight Joinery to reflect that the company offers much more than just quality kitchens. A new partner also buys shares, aligning Spotlight with international brands and strengthening their joinery business.

The Excellence Group is established, with five triangles in its diamond-shaped logo representing the founding companies, including Spotlight Joinery.

2019

Spotlight Joinery opens its first 300m² showroom, which results in a significant increase in demand. The company also renovates its design studio and client experience centre, incorporating a state-of-the-art working environment for its client teams.

2020

Despite the turbulence of the year, Spotlight Joinery expands its operations with an additional 350m² of factory space, allowing them to optimise their production process.

The team grows with new designers, site coordinators, and installation technicians, enabling Spotlight Joinery to expand its reach to the rest of Africa while ensuring outstanding client service.
