Spotlight Joinery worked closely with architect Keith Simmer and installer Dan Wallace to create a home that exudes an old-world charm. The interior joinery was done in a traditional shaker style, showcasing the simplicity, and quality workmanship that is deeply embedded in many of our projects.
The scope of the project was extensive, covering the main kitchen, scullery and laundry, entertainment and braai area, wine cellar, living room area, master and kids bedrooms and ensuite vanities. All of the joinery was designed, manufactured and sourced locally in Cape Town.
Bo Bylin, our managing director, flew up to take measurements and meet the clients, who had worked with us on their home in Camps Bay. He oversaw the installation of the kitchen, which was first set up in our Cape Town factory before being disassembled and packaged for shipping. New installer Dan Wallace was brought in to handle the entire installation process in Zimbabwe.
Logistics were carefully managed, with ATS shipping the joinery to Johannesburg before it was transported to Harare. The quality control process was rigorous, ensuring that every piece of joinery met the high standards set by Spotlight Joinery.
The heart of the home is undoubtedly the kitchen, which features deep blue cabinetry with antiqued brass ironmongery. The countertops were made from Caesarstone quartz granite, while the Butler sink on the island adds a touch of timeless elegance. Turkish tiles on the walls and a coffee station with wing line door fronts complete the traditional aesthetic.
In addition to the kitchen, the home also features a stunning wine cellar with a wine display, as well as solid oak items from Craft Furniture. The overall effect is a home that is both elegant and practical, perfect for modern family living.
