Set in the famous wine-producing suburb of Cape Town, Constantia houses many wine farms, museums and buildings that are steeped in tradition and history. One of our latest projects that we have completed can be found here- nestled between the Alphen trail and the Constantia Greenbelt. The project saw us complete custom joinery and kitchen designs for six units housed in an upmarket security estate called Brommaert Terrace.
The estate features luxuriously designed homes aimed at curating easy-living in elegance. The estate development was completed by KingsHill Group. We worked with the group, who undertook the construction and management of the development, to curate six beautiful homes featuring our kitchens and a variety of custom joinery.
The unit we are featuring today celebrates South African design and craftsmanship. With upholstery from Ardmore, art from a variety of African artists and our locally manufactured joinery and kitchen. The project in its entirety consisted of bespoke living room joinery, an outdoor entertaining kitchen and braai area, kitchen, bathrooms, wine cellar and bedrooms.
The open plan living and dining room maximise the natural, north-facing light with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors leading out onto a central courtyard and outdoor entertaining space. The client requested built-in storage to act as a server at the end of the dining room that matches the built-in living room storage. The storage in the living room houses multimedia appliances and mirrors the bespoke wine storage built-in under the stairs.
Craft Furniture brought the space together with the addition of their slatted timber feature wall. This design has been replicated elsewhere in the home and can be seen as a stand out feature in the entrance hallway with a floor to ceiling mirror. Our custom joinery is situated in front of the mirror which gives the illusion of the drawers floating in the air.
The home is a celebration of patterns, textures and art while remaining comfortable and liveable. The furniture selection is lush and beautiful making a modern home approachable and comfortable.
